Newaza SELF DEFENSE program is developed for teenagers and adults. In this program, you will learn the 67 core techniques of Jiu-Jitsu self-defense (also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ) in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment. Each one-hour lesson addresses one standing or one ground self-defense technique, which are further broken down into simplified drills to facilitate the learning process. You can start the program at any time and participate in any class without previous experience and, since safety is our number one concern, there is no competitive sparring in this program. Upon successful completion of the program you will earn your Self Defense Diploma .
67 Essential Techniques:
Although Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu consists of over 600 techniques, studies of real fights conducted over the years have shown that 67 techniques have been used more often and with greater success than all the other techniques combined. Originally developed for the U.S. Army, Jiu-Jitsu self-defense is the only course that is entirely dedicated to the mastery of these 67 essential techniques. You need absolutely no experience to start this program. Our instructors conduct all classes in a cooperative training environment and are committed to ensuring that every new student has an informative, enjoyable experience regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. ility.
Step 1: Learn the Techniques:
We have divided the 67 Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense techniques into 2 levels ( level 1 Standing, level 2 Ground techniques) 22 one-hour classes so that you can complete the course at your own pace. We designed each lesson so that you can start at any point in the course. As a result, you can complete the 22 lessons in any order without feeling overwhelmed or confused. Upon enrolling, we will issue your online access to our video Library (all Self defense techniques are available online at our website) and attendance track profile so you know what classes have you attended and the ones you missed, also we will track your progress every step of the way.
Step 2: Develop Your Reflexes:
Once you complete each of the 22 Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense lessons, you will qualify to participate in the Self- defense test, this test you will demonstrate how to combine the 67 techniques to address the most common occurrences in a real fight, if you be able to execute 60% of all techniques, you will move to the Level 2 Self-Defense course.
Step 3: Earn Your Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense Diploma:
Once you complete each of the Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense lessons twice, and you’ve completed and passed the test for level 1, you are eligible to test for your Jitsu Sel- Defense Diploma, We will administer a 25-minute test to assess your ability to execute the 67 essential techniques individually and in combination. If your reflexes are sharp and your performance meets Newaza Bjj Club standards, you will earn your Diploma and qualify for the promotion, and you will be ready to transition into our advanced program, Self -Defense Instructor.
