No-Gi
This “No-Gi” class is designed for beginners and advanced students, Men and Women, and consists of basic traditional Jiu Jitsu techniques adapted to make up for the lack of a uniform to grab. Students will learn how to take down, hold down and apply joint locks to submit opponents who are not wearing a Gi. The class consists of warm-ups, Technics, drilling and rolling (live training). This class is an excellent way to transition your Jiu Jitsu Technics into self-defense. Students must wear shorts and a rash guard (or a t-shirt) to attend this class
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is a dynamic self-defense system that focuses on applying the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the traditional uniform. In No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu the goal is to gain a dominant position using joint-locks and choke holds, forcing your opponent to submit. Much of the ground game aspect of what you see in mixed martial arts (MMA) is learned in No-Gi training and can be applied to everyday situations. Students who have previous wrestling experience tend to find No Gi Jiu-Jitsu to be a great extension to their wrestling background.
